Surfing in Ireland

Rent your budget campervan in Dublin or Belfast and you will only be a couple of hours drive from Ireland's surf beaches.

Surfing in Ireland now attracts the attention of the best surfers in the world drawn to the challenges of surfing the North Atlantic ocean. If you're surfing for the first time, learn to surf through the surf academies, surf schools and surf coaching available across Ireland's best surfing sites.

Beaches to surf.

At Bunk, we're not the surfing experts but our surfing customers who rent our campervans tell us to spread the word! Don't leave without surfing Lahinch, Easkey, Portrush and a trip to Strand Hill is essential.
At Strand Hill, County Sligo, Perfect Day Surf School was established over 10 years ago by Tom and Simone Hickey. Tom, former director of coaching for the Irish Surfing Association and former National Irish Surf Team Coach has over 38 years surfing experience. A small surf school that offers a unique one to five instructor to surfer ratio.
Down in County Clare, Lahinch Surf School is based at the beach hut on Lahinch promenade on the west coast of Ireland and provides a safe, relaxed and affordable introduction to the exhilarating sport of surfing.
Surf the secrets of the emerald coastline where the Atlantic swells are plentiful. Ireland's West coast attracts some of the best surfers in the world as well as the growing number of people learning to surf. You can also explore the underwater environment at many PADI Dive Centres across Ireland.

Ireland offers uncrowded surf beaches.

Ireland is still off the global beaten track for surfers across the world! Ireland offers a huge variety of quality surf spots and some really uncrowded areas - meaning that you will get the best out of your surf trip.
Rent your campervan and you can get even further off the beaten track. Head off to Donegal Bay, with predominant off shores, beach breaks and uncrowded reef there are uncrowded spots all along this magnificent stretch of Ireland's Atlantic coast. You could be the first to discover the next big thing!
