September Road Trip Suggestions – What Not to Miss!

September Campervan hire

Don’t let the schools going back and the close of summer get you down. September brings better deals and smaller crowds! Plus with September campervan hire in the UK and Ireland you’ll find the perfect balance between reasonable weather and reasonable prices.

With the crowds dispersed, there’s no limit to what you can do and see by campervan. Tour the picturesque mountains of Scotland, the rugged and wild west coast in Ireland or the charming and delightful rural English countryside. What better time to enjoy a romantic trip? Or test your limits in a hike up the highest peaks and toughest terrain?

Offering all the equipment you need on your holiday, a campervan becomes a practical and comfortable home on wheels, meaning there’s no other way to enjoy as much freedom and flexibility on your road trip. To help plan your September holiday, we have put together some events to inspire you on your campervan hire trip in the UK and Ireland.

What’s on in ‘Bonny’ Scotland

Scotland

‘Bonny’, derived from the Scottish dialect word meaning beautiful, is perhaps the best way to describe Scotland. Famed for the warmth of its people, its rich history and stunning landscapes, you’ll find no better way to tour the country than by campervan.

With your transport and accommodation in one, and the wild parking rules in Scotland, nothing is out of reach. You can park up almost anywhere and camp out under the stars at night!! Stop and cook yourself some culinary delights in your camper and watch the sun set over the cliffs in the still “mostly” undiscovered and beautiful spots of Scotland. All of our campers come equipped with a gas burner so you can enjoy a meal with a view.

Still one of Scotland’s best kept secrets is the 500 mile driving route, the North Coast 500. As you travel through the historic Highland’s region, be in awe at the most picturesque scenery, sample the local food and drink, and visit the fascinating and historic castles. Pick up your camper from our depot near Edinburgh and Glasgow and head north to the start of the route in Inverness.

The Highland Games

Highland-game

Also located in Scotland’s northern region is the traditional Scottish Highland games. Incorporating unique athletic events, music, dancing and bagpipe competitions, you’ll struggle to find an event like it in the world.

You’ll find the penultimate Highland Games of the season in Pitlochry just an hour and half from our depot and beside Cairngorms national park. The games take place this 17th September and are a great opportunity to share a drink with a local and experience first-hand the warmth of the Scottish people.

The Dundee Flower & Food Festival

Stirling CastleThe Dundee Flower and Food Festival offers a chance to try some of Scotland’s diverse and local food. Running 1st-3rd September you’ll see chef demonstrations, amazing flower displays and participate in a host of fun competitions. Dundee buzzes with activity throughout September and you can park your camper to visit Dundee Castle as well as the nature and wildlife at Camperdown country park. These make up just a few of a number of tourist attractions in the city.
