6 Reasons to Treat Yourself to a September Campervan Holiday
Are you having a panic attack every time you cross off a day on your summer calendar? At Bunk Campers we understand that increasing sense of fear counting down the days as August 31 rapidly approaches! To help beat those summer blues, we have put together five reasons you should treat yourself to a well-deserved September holiday so that this year, you will be more than happy to count down to the end of summer!
1. September is the best time to escape the hustle and bustle
After the busy months of July and August, September is an ideal time to get off the beaten track and explore the furthermost villages, landscapes and coasts without crowds of tourists fluttering about. And there’s nothing like a campervan holiday to whisk ourselves away from the stressful urban environment!
Offering all the equipment you need on your holiday, a campervan becomes a practical and comfortable home on wheels, meaning there’s no other way to enjoy as much freedom and flexibility on your road trip.
2. Your post-vacation blues will be high after July & August
If the end of summer makes you feel blue, why not extend the holiday season with a short break in September! With kids at school, September is the perfect time to break away from the world and enjoy some peaceful days with your partner or friends.
Hire a campervan in Ireland and encounter moments of myth and passion along the Wild Atlantic Way. If you want to travel to Scotland, how about touring the famous Malt Whisky Trail with your Bunk Camper? Craving some European adventure? Then hit mainland’s roads in your campervan! Bunk Campers’ London Gatwick depot in Horsham is the perfect gateway to all of Europe’s attractions!
3. There’s still (sun) light at the end of the (summer) tunnel
The UK and Ireland usually enjoy warm weather in September, with parts of the UK averaging around 20 degrees Celsius. This September you should take the chance to get outdoors and have a good time before the winter weather starts creeping in.
Hire a campervan from our London depot and explore England’s South Coast, officially the sunniest place in the UK! Drive your camper to Dorset and marvel at the stunning Durdle Door. In Devon, park up, cook on board and have lunch by the award-winning Woolacombe beach!
If you are interested in campervan hire in Scotland, why not chase the last rays of sun whilst enjoying some island hopping? Head across to the unspoilt Isle of Arran in your campervan, discover the fairy pools of Skye and admire the turquoise waters and sandy of Lewis & Harris, just like the Caribbean!
4. September hosts events to suit all kinds of holidaymakers
The festival season continues well into September in the UK and Ireland with events to suit everyone. Check out the Highland games on 17th September in Pitlochry, Scotland for a taste of the famous Scottish culture.
In England test your strength on the Isle of Wight in the Hills Killers bicycle challenge. Running the whole month of September contestants can take the ultimate test of endurance around the island taking in some of the amazing panoramic views on the way.

5. Surfs up on Ireland!
Surfs up in Ireland! September marks the beginning of the Irish Surfing season and with some favourable off shore winds we’ll see the arrival of some huge “ground swells”…..and not a moment too soon.
There are good conditions for surf for most of the year along Ireland’s west coast, but you’ll get a constant rumble of swell from September. In September the weather is still warm and with the hurricane season on the other side of the Atlantic, the west coast waves start to pick up. This is the time to head to Ireland’s west coast and experience the optimum condition for surf!
Ireland is host to some of the best surfing locations in the world and with your campervan you’ll have no trouble chasing those waves. Our top surfing picks go to Bundoran in County Donegal for its heavy reefs and big wave spots, Easky in Sligo for fun points and reefs and Co. Clare for big wave spots and heavy slabs.
6. A summer holiday on a budget is possible… in September
Last but not least, a tight budget is one of the main restraints when planning our summer holiday. By travelling in September, you will save massively in comparison to the peak season months. Avoid peak summer rates on campervan hire, campsites and attractions meaning you can enjoy that dream journey without paying an arm and a leg for it!
Bunk Campers have a large fleet of campervans and motorhomes for hire in the UK & Ireland, suitable for all tastes and budgets. Choose from the Roadie budget car from £75/day to a luxurious & spacious 6-berth motorhome from £130 per day.
