The World Goes Green to celebrate St Patricks Day!

Greening of St Patricks

In celebration of Ireland’s National day almost 200 iconic attractions around the world have gone green this St Patrick’s Day as part of Tourism Irelands Global Greening Initiative. More than 180 global landmarks from the Sydney Opera House, Empire State Building to Niagara Falls in Canada have gone green as part of the initiative. This is the seventh year of Tourism Ireland’s Global greening initiative which now spans over Europe, Asia, the Americas and more as the green of Ireland continues to take over the world.

Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “St Patrick’s Day traditionally marks the real start of the tourism season for us; our aim is to bring a smile to the faces of people around the world and to convey the message that Ireland offers the warmest of welcomes and great fun, as well as wonderful scenery and heritage.”

“More than 70 million people around the world claim links to the island of Ireland and St Patrick’s Day is a truly unique opportunity to reconnect them with their heritage,”

Wishing you all a happy St Patrick’s day from everyone here at Bunk Campers.
