At Bunk Campers, (as with most hire companies), we require a security deposit for the purposes set out in our Terms and Conditions. The amount for the security deposit will be pre-authorised from your credit or debit card at check-in.
You are required to have the funds available in your account at check-in to cover the security deposit. The vehicle cannot be released until the funds are pre-authorised.
Guests can choose if they wish to continue with the standard security deposit or to increase their level of cover. We recommend that all guests are comfortable with their liability in the event of damage. The nightly charge payable for any of our Liability Reduction options is based on the number of nights of hire for the minimum rental period. The maximum nightly charge for any of our Liability Reduction options is 15 nights per rental segment.
The security deposit covers the cost of any loss or damage from any one incident that has occurred to the vehicle whilst it has been on hire. It is authorised at check-in and will be released providing your vehicle is returned in the condition it was received in. At Bunk Campers, security deposits are authorised in the currency of the hire depot.
In the event of any loss or damage, the hirer is liable for up to the value of this amount. The security deposit is used to fund:
Guests should allow up to 28 days for the security deposit to be released back into their account.
In the event of an insurance claim, regardless of fault, the security deposit will be retained until the insurers have settled the claim. Please note, this can be a lengthy process and is out of Bunk Campers’ control.

All additional protection options and additional drivers can be added at the time of booking, during online check-in or when you come to collect your campervan. Please note, all additional drivers must be present at the depot for collection and must bring identification and documentation as required and outlined in Driver Eligibility & Restrictions.
