Either way, this half term, there’s something for everyone with anything from Giants to witches, colourful forests or exotic wildlife along the way!

To help get you on the open road, we’ve highlighted some of the best family-fun places to go this October Half term.

Ireland Half term

A small country with a big reputation! Helped along by its awe-inspiring landscape and fascinating friendly people, there’s always good reason to travel Ireland and half term is no different. With the children off school, why not travel in style with Bunk Campers “6 berth” Grande motorhome and see the sights with maximum space and comfort?  Along the way you’ll find many different sights to cherish.

The Giant’s Lair- Armagh

Take a journey along the enchanted Slieve Gullion Forest Park. This magical storybook is brought to life before your eyes as you trek the mile long trail entwined with fairy houses, art features, dragons and giants. Situated just an hour from our depot in Belfast, park your motorhome outside the Giant’s forested mansion and the whole family can sit around the giants table, stroll to the ladybird’s house or drop in for a cup of dandelion tea.

Rathwood Halloween Pumpkin Train- Carlow

One of the ultimate Halloween adventures is the Pumpkin train in Carlow. Swap camper for steam engine as you and the whole family take your fancy dress aboard the spooktacular pumpkin train. On the way, pick your favourite pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, decorate with friendly witches and stop for your free hot chocolate in the family restaurant. The event, located just a short distance from our depot in Dublin runs from 24th-31st October, and is sure to be “a treat without the trick” for the whole family.

Wicklow Walk

Picnic with the Family

Stoping off in your camper in Wicklow, located along Ireland’s wondrous Ancient East, gives you an opportunity to discover some of Ireland’s most ancient sights and secrets from the earliest high kings to modern day poets. Taking place 24th-28th October, the Footfalls Wicklow Walking Festival highlights a number of these thrilling sights. Here, you and the kids can explore fields from the days of the famine and ruined sixth century monastic settlements before stopping off to enjoy a picnic at your camper. All of Bunk Camper’s campervans and motorhomes for hire come equipped with a kitchen kit and kettle, gas hobs for cooking and fridge to keep food fresh. Don’t forget to pack your “wellie” boots for the fields!
