Vehicle Pick Up – FAQs

  • Where are the vehicle pick-up locations?

We have pick-up locations for campervan hire across the UK and Ireland. These include Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, and London. Click any of these to learn more.

  • What time can I pick-up my campervan?

Collections are between 3-4.30 pm. On arrival, allow at least 1 hour to complete the documentation and collection of deposit. All rentals must take place at a Bunk Campers depot to allow us to carry out the essential checks and paperwork.

  • What do I need to bring to pick up campervan?

All drivers must be present for the collection of your motorhome. You will need to bring the following to the rental depot before you pick up:

2 Separate forms of photographic ID (Passport & Driver’s Licence)

Any accompanying documents with driver’s licence (i.e., counterpart)

If you have a UK driving licence, we are required to check the counterpart of your driving licence which is stored on the DVLA website. To do this, please bring your national insurance number, driving licence number and postcode to the depot for check-in. This will ensure we can check the counterpart of your driving licence.

UK driving licence holders can also log in to the DVLA website in advance (https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence) and receive a check code which will allow us to view your counterpart. Simply bring the code with you for check-in and we will do the rest (N.B This is a one-time check code so please don’t test it to see if it worked!)

Alternatively, you can access the DVLA website yourself and print the counterpart of your driving licence within 48 hours of check-in and present it at the depot.

We are unable to insure you to drive any of our vehicles if we are not able to check your counterpart driving licence details.

All paper licences issued before 1998 are still valid.

If you have a Northern Ireland driving licence, we require both the photo card of your driving licence and the paper counterpart.

  • Can I collect my campervan earlier than 3pm?

We cannot offer or pre-book an early pickup. The branch will contact you in advance of hire and discuss the collection time. If there is an earlier collection available, the branch will offer this at that time.

  • I would like to pick up my vehicle early, is this possible?

The pickup time is 3-4.30 pm. We do not pre-book early pickups. The team will call you 1-2 days before your hire starts if they can offer anything earlier.

  • Can I pick up my motorhome on a Sunday?

No, we are closed on Sundays.

  • Is there parking at the branch?

We have limited spaces available at each depot. At our Edinburgh and Belfast depots, overnight onsite parking is available and charged at £5 per night. It is £8 per night at London Heathrow. We do not offer on-site parking at our Dublin branch, however, the Hotel Carlton, is a 3-minute walk away and they offer parking options.

  • Can I collect later than 5pm?

The last time for arrival to collect is 4.30pm. There is no out-of-hours option.

  • How long does picking up my motorhome take?

On arrival, we will hold the security deposit and you will be required to sign a few forms, receive a vehicle introduction, and then you get the keys and can head off.

  • I am driving, do I need to be there to collect?

Yes, all drivers must be present at the branch when collecting to be verified. Any additional drivers must also be there.

  • I need to arrange my pickup time; how do I do this?

The branch will call you the day before your hire to arrange pick-up times. You should plan to collect your vehicle between 3-5 pm.

  • Will I be given an induction to my vehicle?

You will receive a full induction of your chosen vehicle and be shown how heating, gas, electric, water and more all work. You shall also have the opportunity to ask any questions or clarify anything you are unsure of.
